Travelling by night!

Sometimes, in order to survive, you need to travel by night. We'd better practise those skills in case we are ever in danger in the night and need to leave somewhere in a hurry!

Of course if you are in a tricky situation, stuck in a rainforest or on a remote island, you will have to work very carefully together to get out of danger! Crossing swamps and getting through gigantic spiders webs, without disturbing the wildlife, can take a lot of quick thinking and even more team work!

Keep that wobbly bridge balanced!

Rainforest skills!

The Bear Grylls survival team instructors have really put the team through their paces today during the rainforest skills challenges. 

The team have had to cross crocodile infested waters, create bridges across rivers where piranhas are known to swim and zip between treetops to avoid snakes and other creatures below. 

They have crossed other rivers and ravines on rope bridges and rope swings. Exhausting work! There were lots of problems to be solved on the way. Grit, determination and courage were needed! 

Teamwork has been essential!

Trouble in the Survivor Camp!

Yesterday we had some troubling news in a letter from Bear.





 One of the camera crew almost got seriously injured on their latest expedition and Bear found out that he hadn't been included in the most recent survival camp training. We received a letter telling us that, if we wanted to join Bear Grylls in his next adventure, we would all have to pass his rigorous training. 

We phoned to find out more about it and we have to go Monday! The training booklets have clues in them as to what we need to pass: rainforest skills, shelter building, problem solving and working in the dark. It's very exciting, but we are a little apprehensive too!
