Learning at home
I hope you enjoy looking at the gallery of work from our topic and learning at home this half term. Such a high standard again! I love how I have featured in a story - as a walrus!! It is also wonderful to see how some children have extended their learning in school to home, with their brilliant iBooks. We have had some delicious treats as well, with some more cake today from Willow!
What a wonderful time we are having learning in class 2!
Brilliant fiction and non-fiction books. Miss Yates came to have a look at your lovely work this evening as I was finishing the display. She was very impressed!
This bear has real character-wonderful!
Please come and visit and read these wonderful stories and information books!
I'm learning loads of things about Alaskan National Parks that I didn't know! It's making me want to visit!
Scrumptious delicious! Polar bear biscuits!
Another amazing model from Ellie-Mae, with a little help from her arty family.

Special letters
Last week we really enjoyed the story called The Day the Crayons Quit, by Drew Daywalt. The pictures were brilliant too as they were drawn by Oliver Jeffers.
We wondered what it would be like if we were a pencil in the story and what it might say. Would it complain or would it be a happy pencil? We all wrote a letter to Duncan saying what we thought about how he used us.
Miss BB thought that Drew Daywalt would like to read the extra page we have written for his story, so we decided to send them to him. The letter to Duncan was informal, as if we were writing to a friend. We thought our letter to Drew should be more formal, because we really want him to read our letters.
We have put all the letters to Duncan and all the letters to Drew Daywalt in an envelope to post. We think that he lives in America, but his publishers are here. It might take a while for him to receive them! We really hope that we get a reply!

How should we rescue the polar bears?
This afternoon we really had to put our thinking caps on to decide how we were going to rescue the polar bears safely.
We shared our ideas when we passed around the 'microphone' and thought about what others had said. Sometimes we thought ideas were brilliant, other times we were worried that they wouldn't work.
We decided we would have to be very safe near these wild animals, because the adult would be very hungry and would also want to protect the baby. It might be necessary to put the bears to sleep.
Instructions and recipes
We hope you enjoy looking at the photographs and talking about them with your child. Look out for some instructions here soon!
